LAHORE
Pakistan national hockey team reached Netherlands to take part in the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2026 to be hosted jointly by Netherlands and Belgium from August 15 to August 30.
Pakistan Men’s team was warmly received at the airport by the Pakistan embassy in Netherlands.
Earlier on Sunday, Pakistan team departed for the Netherlands from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.
Prior to departure, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has already transferred a total of PKR 20 million as foreign daily allowance to the bank accounts of the players and coaching staff in advance.
“The federation’s objective is to free the players from financial concerns and provide them with the opportunity to focus their full attention on their performance on the field,” said a press release by the PHF.
According to the PHF, all logistical arrangements for the team’s travel, accommodation, meals, local transportation, and the transportation of sports equipment have been completed.
PHF President Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani, in a statement, said “welfare of the players and coaches is our top priority. All necessary financial and administrative matters have been settled transparently before departure so that the team can represent the country and nation on the global stage without any hesitation”.
