PESHAWAR
The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Monday granted transit bail to Noreen Niazi, sister of incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan, in a case registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2026, and directed her to appear before the relevant court in Islamabad on or before August 20. A single-member bench comprising Justice Arshad Ali heard Noreen’s petition. She was represented by lawyers Ali Zaman, Amir Zeb and Barrister Sarwar Muzaffar Shah.
According to the case details, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) registered the case against Noreen in July. She has been accused of making derogatory and inflammatory remarks against state institutions during a podcast interview and in subsequent clips shared on X.
The court granted transit bail to facilitate her appearance before the Islamabad court handling the matter.
