Terrorist Killed in Joint Bannu operation

A joint intelligence-based operation by district police, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and security forces in Bannu district resulted in the killing of an unidentified terrorist, police officials said on Monday.
The operation was conducted in Miryan area of Bannu following intelligence reports about the presence of suspected militants. A heavy exchange of fire took place between law enforcement personnel and the suspected terrorists during the operation.
Officials said one unidentified suspected terrorist was killed in the exchange of fire. His body was taken into custody and efforts are underway to establish his identity and obtain further information about his background.
A Kalashnikov rifle, three magazines and a bandolier were recovered from the possession of the dead terrorist, police said.
Several other suspects were also reportedly detained during the operation and are being questioned as part of the investigation.
Following the joint operation, law enforcement agencies continued search and clearance operations in the area to locate any other suspected militants who may still be present in the area.
Officials said further action would be taken based on the outcome of the ongoing search and investigation.
