Levy recovered in fiscal year 2025-26 surpasses govt, IMF targets

ISLAMABAD: Record recovery of Rs 1567 billion and 45 crore was made under the head of levy in the financial year 2025-26 which surpasses government target by about Rs 100 billion . As per private T V report the amount collected against petroleum levy in the fiscal year 2025-26 has surpassed government target of Rs 1468 billion and IMF assessment of Rs 1546 billion. A sum of Rs 50 billion and 16 crore have been deposited in national kitty separately under the head of climate support levy. According to report, a surge of Rs 347. 24 billion has been witnessed in recovery of levy as compared to previous financial year recovery. Rs 1220.21 billion were collected under the head of levy in the financial year 2024-25, Rs 1019 billion in financial year 2023-24 and Rs 580 billion in the financial year 2022-23. DNA
