On the occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, the Pakistan Army conducted a 21-gun salute in Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyber Pakthunkhwa. A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army began the gun salute with the slogan Allahu Akbar. The air in Peshawar echoed with chants of Nara-e-Takbeer, Pakistan Zindabad and Pak Fauj Paindabad.”
The gun salute symbolised love for the homeland, national unity and the resolve to defend the country.
Meanwhile, a grand Independence day ceremony and spectacular fireworks display were held at Peshawar’s historic Balahisar Fort, attracting a large number of citizens.
People from across the city, including children and young people, arrived at the fort to celebrate Independence Day with enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
The fort and surrounding areas were decorated with green-and-white national flags, while citizens expressed their love for Pakistan by chanting Pakistan Zindabad.
During the ceremony, a spectacular fireworks display lit up the night sky with vibrant colours, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Citizens celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm, reaffirming their commitment to national unity and love for their homeland.
