President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari conferred the prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz upon Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr Nasir Mahmood on the occasion of Independence Day in recognition of his outstanding services to the field of education.
The national honour acknowledges Prof. Dr Nasir Mahmood’s valuable contributions to the promotion of education, provision of quality educational opportunities, professional development of teachers, advancement of research and improvement of educational institutions, said a press release on Saturday.
Under his leadership and vision, various positive and effective initiatives have been undertaken to strengthen the education sector and enhance the quality and accessibility of education. His contributions have played an important role in promoting academic development, institutional improvement, research and learning.
