Swati meets Portuguese envoy

Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Saleem Swati and Ambassador of Portugal to Pakistan Paulo Domingues held a meeting at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad.
During the meeting, the two sides held a detailed discussion on Pakistan-Portugal bilateral relations, matters of mutual interest, and opportunities to enhance cooperation in various fields, a statement said.
On the occasion, Speaker Babar Saleem Swati said that Pakistan and Portugal enjoy friendly relations, which can be further strengthened through enhanced bilateral engagement, parliamentary diplomacy, and cooperation in various sectors. He said that parliaments play an important role in bringing people closer and promoting mutual understanding.
The Speaker also highlighted the potential and opportunities available in various sectors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and expressed hope that bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Portugal would be further expanded.
Ambassador Paulo Domingues thanked the Speaker for the meeting and expressed his interest in promoting cooperation and engagement with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in various fields. He also emphasized the importance of further strengthening the friendly relations between Pakistan and Portugal.
Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Syed Wiqar Shah was also present during the meeting. Parliamentary relations, mutual cooperation, and avenues for strengthening people-to-people contacts were also discussed.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Speaker Babar Saleem Swati thanked the Portuguese Ambassador for his visit and expressed his best wishes for further strengthening the friendly relations between Pakistan and Portugal
