Interior minister Mohsin Naqvi has visited Jinnah International Airport and reviewed the ongoing process for passengers on immigration counters.
He met the passengers and inquired from them about the immigration process and the difficulties facing them.
Interior minister took immediate notice of the flaw related to immigration system which came to open during the visit. He made telephonic contact to the respective authorities and directed them to remove it soon.
Mohsin Naqvi directed an alternative system should be available immediately in case the immigration system goes down so that passengers could not face any difficulty.
He said immigration process should not stop at any cost.
He directed airport authorities to take stern action against the passengers who are found trying to travel on fake documents.
He made it clear that any passenger with incomplete and unverified documents will not be allowed to travel.
He directed immigration staff to ensure complete scrutiny of documents and stern implementation of rules and regulations.
He inspected immigration counters at airport and reviewed the facilities being provided to the passengers.
He directed the concerned authorities to take all necessary steps to make immigration process effective , fast and uninterrupted for passengers.
