ISLAMABAD
Initial investigation report on PIMS tragedy has been presented to the Prime Minister (PM).
Sources said the report was filed by former interior secretary and chairman inquiry committee Shahid Khan in the office of Tauqir Shah advisor to PM till late night.
Tauqir Shah sent the report to PM besides informing PM about the key contents and recommendations of the report.
According to sources the report carries the signatures of all members. The committee has determined the causes and alleged responsible persons.
The difficulties and impediments faced in rescue operation by Rescue teams during the incident have been mentioned in details
Sources said the relevant staff of the PIMS was absent at the time of incident. The recommendation for initiation of action against the absenting staff is also included in the report.
The committee has presented several recommendations for preventing such incidents in future.
The interviews of PIMS administration and doctors are also made part of the report. The statements of fire brigade and RESCUE teams are also included in the report.
Sources said the treatment system and available facilities in PIMS have also been reviewed in the report.
The observations of dire nature have come to fore in the report with reference to facilities in PIMS.
It has been said several matters are not upto international standard.
As per sources immediate action has been recommended by the inquiry committee through report to the PM against the persons declared responsible.
PM has also decided to take immediate action in the light of report. Action is likely to be taken soon against the responsible persons.
Powers for making the report public have been given to PM.
It will be decided by PM to make public the contents of the report when.
Inquiry committee sources have confirmed transmission of report to PM office.
