Federal Minister for Energy (Power Division) Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari on Thursday directed all power distribution companies (DISCOs) to finalise the methodology, criteria and schedule for the Consumer Perception Survey and launch it without further delay.
Chairing a meeting, the minister directed that the survey criteria be aligned with parameters set by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), so that consumer feedback was given genuine and meaningful weight, said a press release.
He said the survey would help assess consumer satisfaction with the performance and services of DISCOs, while its findings would serve as an input for future policymaking
He further instructed to complete the survey’s approval at the earliest so that the process could commence without delay.
The survey is to be conducted mandatorily every six months, with the annual schedule required to include at least one survey during the summer season.
Leghari said the exercise was not merely an administrative formality but a tangible expression of the government’s commitment to consumer welfare and service, aimed at improving the quality of services delivered to the public.
He urged consumers to provide honest feedback during the survey, saying their input would help improve institutional performance and enable the government and relevant authorities to make more informed, transparent, and sound decisions — ultimately strengthening consumer confidence and satisfaction in the power sector.
