Islamabad(PR):The United Business Group (UBG) of FPCCI on Sunday announced names of the candidates from Balochistan and Punjab for the election of FPCCI.
In this connection a meeting of the UBG’s core committee was held at the house of President FPCCI Abdul Rauf Alam which was attended by the leaders of the business community from all across the country.
Those present at the occasion included FPCCI’s presidential candidate Zubair Tufail, SVP FPCCI Khalid Tawab, Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Gulzar Feroz, Riazuddin Sheikh, Abdul Sami Khan, Hameed Akhtar Chadda and Malik Sohail.
After thorough deliberations, Chairman of the UBG Iftikhar Ali Malik and Parton-in-Chief SM Muneer made announcement of the candidates.
As per the announcement Amir Atta Bajwa who has served as VP of FPCCI was nominated for the slot of Senior Vice President of FPCCI.
Former President ICCI Mian Shaukat Masood was nominated to represent Capital city as VP of FPCCI while Masooma Sabtain was nominated to contest for the VP of women’s seat.
The post of VP reserved for the associations went to Qazi Atta-ur-Rehman of the Crop Association Khanewal while Wali Muhammad of Loralai Chamber will contest for the post of VP from Balochistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Iftikhar Ali Malik, SM Muneer and other business leaders said that UBG will win the FPCCI elections again as business community is in no mood to try those who have been tested in the past.
The opposition has united with an aim to plunder the resources of the Apex chamber while we are here to serve the masses that is why we have won the FPCCI elections twice.
They said that one of our aims is to revive the lost glory of the Apex Chamber of Commerce which was damaged due to mismanagement, corruption and nepotism.
We brought dictatorship in the FPCCI to an end and now it is playing due role in national development rather than serving a group of few opportunists. Senator Ilyas Bilour said that the business community of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and Fata would fully back UBG in the upcoming FPCCI elections.
He said that only true democracy will prevail in trade politics and people with integrity have been given responsibilities so that that can contribute to image building of FPCCI and resolve issues of the business community.
