Rs 180 bln proposed for KP education sector: Ziaullah

Adviser to CM for Education Ziaullah Bangash Monday said that the education department has proposed Rs 180b allocation in fiscal year 2019-20 for education sector. Talking to media here at his office, he said that Rs 20b has been proposed for education sector in merged district, adding that Rs 4b would be spent on development of these areas.
He said early education program would be initiated in 10,000 schools during the fiscal year 2019-20, while second shift school program would be extended to merged districts and other 25 districts of the province to make all the children of the province literate. He said second shift, rented building schools and upgradation of schools projects would be initiated for out of school children while scholarships, basic facilities for students at schools, accelerated learning program, voucher scheme and other important projects would be launched for school going children for their encouragement.
He claimed that the enrollment target was achieved successfully and for new enrollment drive new incentives would be given.
Ziaullah said that independent monitoring unit would be extended to merged districts and soon IMU would be raised as authority.
