ANF seizes drugs worth Rs 15.3bln

ISLAMABAD(DNA): The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized huge cache of narcotics weighing more than five tons worth Rs 15.3 Billion in International Market in 4 operations carried out at Qilla Abdullah, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad and Sukkur, officials said on Thursday.
The operations also resulted in arrest of 4 persons involved in drug smuggling and seizure of 1 vehicle. The recovered drugs comprised 3.508 Ton Opium, 1.607 Ton Heroin and 5.7 kg Hashish.
According to details ANF Quetta while carrying out intelligence led operation recovered 1.606 Ton of Heroin and 3.502 Ton of Opium. The drug was stocked at a site situated in general area of Roghani, Tehsil Chaman District Qilla Abdullah, which was to be dispatched to some unknown destination.
ANF Lahore intercepted a Toyota Corolla car No ZZ-428 at Khanka Dogran interchange and arrested 2x accused namely Abdul Wali Khatak and Yousaf Kaka Khail both the resident of Nowshehra and recovered 6 kg Opium and 5 kg Hashish from their personal possession.
Both accused were cloth traders and used to smuggle narcotics concealed in their consignments. In second operation ANF Lahore arrested a passenger namely Zahoor Ahmed Machi resident of Sargodha at Faisalabad International Airport while he was to fly for Saudi Arab via PIA flight No. PK – 717 and recovered 1.260 Kg of Heroin which was tactfully concealed in baggage.
ANF Sukkur conducted a raid on Drug Peddler at Adam Shah Takri Shikarpur and arrested one drug accused namely Yasir Rehman and recovered 700 gram Hashish from his personal possession.
All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations under CNS Act and further investigations are underway, which may lead to new evidences.
