PESHAWAR
Assistant Additional Commissioner (AAC) University Town, Sayeda Zainab Naqvi on Monday sealed a famous food outlet, Jan’s Deli for over charging the customers on University Road here.
The district government office said the AAC had received public complaints regarding sale of daily-use and edible items at Jan’s Deli at exorbitant prices. To inspect the situation, she went to the store and bought a bottle of water from Jan’s Deli.
The shop charged extra money for the bottle, upon which the AAC sealed the store.
She said provision of daily use items to the public was the prime responsibility of the district government and no compromise would be made towards this end. She also warned the shopkeepers to strictly avoid extra charging; otherwise stern legal action would be initiated against them.
