MELBOURNE
Abdullah Shafiq, who dropped David Warner’s catch in the first innings of the Melbourne Test match, dropped Mitchell Marsh’s catch in the second innings.
On the third day of the Test match, the Pakistani fast bowlers made a brilliant comeback and wiped out the Australian top order for a total score of just 16. Abdullah Shafique has dropped Mitchel March’s catch after that he scored a half century.
This is not the first time that Abdullah Shafiq has dropped a catch in a Test match, earlier in the first innings he dropped the catch of David Warner after which he created a lot of trouble for the Pakistani bowlers.
The video of Abdullah Shafiq dropping the catch on the social networking site Twitter (X) is going viral on social media.
During the press conference yesterday, the opener was asked why he dropped the catch. To which Abdullah Shafiq said that unfortunately David Warner’s important catch was dropped, if he had held it, Australia’s innings could have ended quickly, no fielder wants to drop a catch, it was my mistake which I admit.
