Abid Riaz hammered a cracking knock of 74 runs with nine dashing boundaries and three sixes besides taking two wickets played a key role in his team Mardan Red against Mardan Blues in a match of the PCB Inter-District Senior Cricket Championship played at Mardan Sports Complex Cricket ground on Sunday.
Declared as Man of the Match for scoring 74 runs and grabbing two wickets, Abdi Riaz played a stunning innings by hitting all the rival bowlers toward cracking boundaries. His fluent batting guided his team to a comfortable victory against Mardan Blues.
Earlier, in the match of Pakistan Cricket Board Inter-District Senior, which was played at Mardan Sports Complex, Mardan Red Senior won, while playing first, the highlight of Mardan Red’s innings was Abid Riaz who smashed an elegant knock of 74 runs, laced with nine boundaries and three towering sixes.
Sajjad Ali was the century maker who hit 16 fours and 3 sixes while Rahmanullah scored 38 runs. Mardan Red Senior scored 298 runs in the allotted 50 overs. Samiullah of Mardan Blues was the most successful bowler who took 3 wickets, Yasir and Mansoor got two wickets each.
Batting in reply, Mardan Blues Senior Shahzeb scored 83 runs which included 13 fours and a six. Shahzeb also played well and hit all the bowlers all around the ground with some superb batting.
The other successful batsman was Baz Umeer who scored 45 runs with the help of 4 fours and 3 sixes. Thus, Mardan Blues were defeated by Mardan Red by 16 runs. Abid Riaz took 2 wickets and was declared as Man of the Match.
