PESHAWAR
Acting Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani on Friday chaired a special Senate meeting of Women’s University Swabi at Governor House Peshawar, said a handout.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr Shahana Urooj Kazmi informed the participants of the meeting that lack of permanent faculty in the University, the positions of Deans and Chairmen of various departments lying vacant, adding that Selection Board and Scrutiny and Certification Committee of the University was not being completed.
The Vice-Chancellor said that earlier in a special meeting of the Senate of the said university, it was decided to hire the services of faculty members who meet the relevant standards from nearby universities on temporary basis for full formation of Selection Board and Scrutiny and Certification Committee.
A panel of nominees for the deans and chairmen of various departments of the university was presented by the Department of Higher Education and Vice Chancellor Women’s University Swabi in the Senate meeting.
The Senate meeting was attended by faculties and departments of the University, Biochemistry, Computer Sciences, Medical Sonography, Arts and Social Sciences, Cultural Studies, Allied Health Sciences, Botany, Islamic Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Physics, Political Science, Urdu, Zoology.
Besides, Provincial Minister for Higher Education Kamran Bangash, the meeting was attended by Acting Principal Secretary to Governor Saif-ul-Islam besides members of Senate including Higher Education Department, Finance Department and Establishment Department.
