MUZAFFARABAD
AJK Election Commission (EC) has approved appeal plea of AJK acting president and speaker assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar and he has been allowed to contest election.
The decision by Returning Officer (RO) for rejecting the nomination papers of Chaudhry Latif Akbar has been declared null and void.
As per decision Chaudhry Latif Akbar will now be entitled to contest election from LA-31 Khawra.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (Retd) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal announced the reserved judgment.
Former Advocate General Raja Gul Majid Khan represented the rival party.
A neck to neck competition is likely between Chaudhry Latif Akbar and PML-N candidate Raja Saqib Majid.
