PESHAWAR
The colorful opening ceremony of the Kooza Banda Super League (KSL) Season 3 was held in Battagram, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s Adviser on Sports and Youth Affairs Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand and Adviser on Industries and Commerce Humayun Khan formally inaugurating the event.
The ceremony was attended by cricket enthusiasts, district administration officials and various political and social figures from across the district.
Addressing the ceremony, Adviser for Sports Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand praised the KSL administration for organizing the event and said Battagram had no shortage of sporting talent. He said the need was to provide young people with proper opportunities and facilities to develop their abilities.
He said the provincial government was taking steps to provide maximum facilities and opportunities to young people in sports and other fields.
Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand announced that a sports complex would be constructed in Battagram at an estimated cost of around Rs920 million.
He added that a tehsil-level ground would also be constructed soon. Steps would also be taken to establish a modern sports ground in Batta Moria, an area comprising four union councils.
The adviser said the KSL Season 3 final would be organized on a grand scale, with full possible support from the provincial government and district administration.
He announced cash prizes not only for the two teams participating in the final but also for the Player of the Tournament, Player of the Match, umpires, commentators, media partners and the organizing committee.
At the conclusion, the adviser thanked cricket fans, players, guests, district administration officials, political and social personalities and the KSL administration for attending the opening ceremony and making it a successful and memorable event.
