ISLAMABAD : Foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said Afghan government should review its decision of calling bank its ambassador and diplomats.
He telephoned his Afghan counterpart Mohammad Haneef Atmar and the two exchanged views on matters of mutual interest;.
Shah Mehmood apprised Afghan foreign Foreign Minister of the steps taken with reference to July 16 incident.
Qureshi said that all possible steps would be taken to arrest the accused persons and bring them to justice. Foreign ministry is well aware of diplomatic norms.
He underlined that security of Afghan embassy and consulate in Pakistan has been enhanced I hope that Afghan government will review its decision of calling back Afghan diplomats from Pakistan.
Afghan foreign minister thanked Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan for taking personal interest in the probe into the incident.
He lauded Shah Mehmood Qureshi efforts for stepping up the security of Afghan diplomats saying Afghanistan accords special importance to bilateral ties with Pakistan.
The two foreign ministers agreed on continuing contacts on the matters of mutual interest.
