petition for allotment of official house
KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) while issuing notice to Attorney General (AG) on former president Arif Alvi petition for allotment of permanent official house has sought reply from him. The petition filed by former president Arif Alvi came up for hearing in SHC Friday. The counsel for the petitioner took the plea that Arif Alvi remained president from 2018 to 2024, therefore, he is entitled to life time official house. According to counsel bungalow No 3-A was allotted in Bath Island to Arif Alvi for residence and later Bungalow No 5-A was allotted to him. The said bungalow is in possession of Customs Member Shahab Imam. Shahab Imam has obtained stay order on Bungalow since 2023. This attitude of deferral government with former president is not appropriate. Former president was not informed about the present status of the said bungalow. Federal government be ordered to provide the said bungalow to former president for residence. The court while issuing notice to AG ordered to file parawise reply on next hearing. Online
