Agriculture officers trained on Drip Irrigation System

On Farm Water Management Wing of Agriculture Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in collaboration with World Bank organized a three-day training workshop on Design Installation & Operation of Drip Irrigation System for district directors and officers of the department, said an official handout issued here on Sunday.
The training workshop organized under KP Irrigated Agriculture Improvement Project at Agricultural University Peshawar was participated by 30 directors and officers from across the province.
Director Mohammad Sarwar of the Water Resource Management Department, Agricultural University gave a detailed lecture to the participants on Drip Irrigation System and highlighted its practical and theoretical aspects.
The participants were also briefed in detail on the CROPWAT software of FAO.
He was hopeful that the participants will utilize the training in their fieldwork and will prove beneficial for agricultural development.

Addressing the participants of the workshop, the Director General (DG) On Farm Water Management, Javed Iqbal Khattak stressed for the adoption of the Drip Irrigation System and termed its only solution to get rid of food insecurity, triggered by the growing population and scarcity of water.
In the end, the chief guest distributed certificates among the participants of the training workshop.
