Minister for development and planning and chairman flood relief committee Ahsan Iqbal formed by the Prime Minster (PM) Shahbaz Sharif has written letters to chief ministers of all the four provinces in connection with provision of assistance to flood affected people under national strategy.
The letters with the signature of federal minister Ahsan Iqbal were sent to chief ministers of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and KP.and Prime Minister AJK Sardar Tanveer Ilyas and CM Gilgit-Baltistan.
Ahsan Iqbal has sought time from all the four Chief ministers, PM AJK and chief minister Gilgit Baltistan.
Ahsan Iqbal has said in the letter that time be given so that a joint strategy could be hammered out for taking steps to provide assistance to flood affected people on fast track basis.
NDMA has given elementary estimate of loss caused due to the floods.in the meeting held under the PM, Shahbaz Sharif.
PM has said it is natural calamity and joint strategy be evolved to provide assistance to the flood affected areas and people;.
Every province should appoint a focal person in the light of PM directives so that pace of relief process could be accelerated. PM Shahbaz Sharif has constituted committee under my supervision, he added.
