AIOU inks an MoU with Ibne Khaldoun University, Turkey

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has achieved another significant milestone of its international collaborations and linkages program. AIOU has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ibne
Khaldoun University, Turkey to collaborate mutually to enhance quality of higher education imparted and promoting and strengthening research culture at both the universities.
According to the MoU, both the universities will initiate joint projects to collaborate academically to offer new educational programs in various disciplines as well as seek benefits from their mutual experiences and specialized expertise to enhance not only the quality of education but also to promote and strengthen research practices and culture at both the universities.
Furthermore, it will also open new opportunities for faculty and students exchange programs. Prof Dr Zia ul Qayyum, VC, AIOU and Prof Dr Atilla Arkan, President, Ibne Khaldoun University, Turkey signed the
MoU in the presence of AIOU delegation and faculty members of the host university. Dr Zahid Majeed, Director, International
Collaboration and Exchange Program briefed the participants of the MoU signing ceremony about AIOU’s digitalization as well as expansion of its educational network to the international students.
The delegation from AIOU is comprised of senior faculty members including Prof Dr Nasir Mehmood, Dean, Faculty of Education, Prof Dr Hassan Raza, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof Dr Samina Awan, Chairperson, History,
Prof Dr Abdul Aziz Sahir, Chairman, Urdu, Prof Dr Hajra Ahmad, Chairperson, Environmental Sciences, Dr Bakht Rawan,
Director, Public Relations, Muhammad Munir, Additional Director, IET, Nasim Khan, Assistant Professor, Sociology and Kamran Mir, Assistant Director, ICT.
While addressing the ceremony, Prof Dr Zia Ul Qayyum said that AIOU is looking forward to opening new portals of academic excellence as well as international linkages and collaborations. He, further, added that in the backdrop of COVID-19, the use of technology has become indispensable in almost all walks of life.
He, further, told that AIOU is looking striving hard to expanding its international linkages for further collaborations in the fields of higher education and research. Prof Dr Atilla
Arkan highly praised AIOU for its services in the cause of mass education. He, further, added that this MoU will further strengthen bilateral ties between Turkey and Pakistan.
During this visit, AIOU delegation is visiting various Turkish universities as well as Turkish Youth Foundation (TUGVA) and ILIKE foundation to explore new dimensions of mutual collaborations.
