Commissioner Mardan Division Shaukat Ali Yousafzai has directed the concerned authorities to take all necessary steps to make the anti-polio campaign successful commencing from Nov 27. Addressing a meeting of the Divisional Task Force regarding anti-polio arrangements in his office, he directed to make a fool-proof plan for the safety and security of the polio teams.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mardan Captain Retired Abdul Rehman and Deputy Commissioner Swabi Gohar Ali, along with officials from the Department of Health, Education, Police, WHO and other institutions. The meeting was told that during the anti-polio campaign to be conducted from November 27 to December 1, 777,000 children under the age of five will be given polio vaccine in Mardan and Swabi.
For which 3300 polio teams have been deployed while 4000 personnel will be assigned on security duty. Commissioner Mardan Division Shaukat Ali Yousafzai while addressing the meeting said that all institutions should make joint efforts to eradicate the deadly disease of polio and no negligence will be tolerated at any level in this regard.
He directed the officers of all government departments to provide all necessary support to the polio teams to make this national cause successful.
