A 9-year-old Kashmiri Markhor Kashkar of Toshi Shashamin, an American citizen of Chitral area, hunted after winning a bid of giving one hundred and five thousands US dollars to the Wildlife Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The American citizen Daron James Millman bid one hundred and five thousand US dollars to hunt the Markhor, an official of the Wildlife Department told media men. Markhor’s horn measured 45 inches, while 53 inches is the highest record in the history of trophy hunting in the conservative areas of Chitral, said the Wildlife Department official.
He said 70% of the money received from trophy hunting will be collected locally and 30% will be collected in the government treasury, said the Department of Wildlife official. He said 73,500 US dollars, Rs. 2. 874 million will be distributed to the local community, the official of the Department of Wildlife, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said.
