PESHAWAR
The provincial president of Awami National Party (ANP) and chairman parliamentary board Aimal Wali Khan on Wednesday announced the names of five more candidates for the general election to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
He announced the names of the candidates for the provincial constituencies of the province after consultation with other members of the board in a meeting held in the party’s headquarters Bacha Khan Markaz, said a statement.
Aimal Wali Khan said that Malik Farhad Khan is candidate for PK 79 Peshawar (PK 82) and Jamshed Khan PK 63 Nowshera (PK 85).
The parliamentary board chairman nominated Gohar Ali Shah Bacha for PK 48 Mardan (PK 51) and Nawabzada Khan from Swabi PK 44 (PK 47) while Sohail Ahmed will be the candidate from PK 43 (PK 46).
It is pertinent to mention here that the party has nominated candidates for the most constituencies of the province.
It is worth mentioning here that general elections in the province are hanging in balance as Governor KP Haji Gulam Ali has backtracked on his decision to hold an election on May 28.
In a separate statement, ANP leader Amil Wali Khan has said that the people of the province would not be used for the protection of leadership associated with the Punjab.
He said that there were reports that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan “ is planning to hide” in Pakhtunkhwa.
Imran Khan utilized state machinery for more than ten years in the province, he alleged and stated ANP would resist the move if such a decision was taken again.
