ISLAMABAD
The provincial president of Awami National Party (ANP) on Monday announced that under the banner of ‘Pashtun National Alliance’ a “Pakhtun Peace March” will be held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on October 4.
Aimal Wali Khan demanded of the government to take action against the elements creating unrest to ensure provision of safety and rights of Pashtuns in KP.
Addressing a press conference at National Press Club Islamabad along with other party leaders, ANP leader said that peace was still a major issue in KP and decisive action against the militants groups was yet to be taken.
He also criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan for creating political unrest and choice in the country for their personal political motives, adding that Imran Khan has been struggling to regain power.
“Pakhtun nation is deprived of peace even in the 21st century and they are still struggling for their rights and peaceful life,” he added and said that terrorism is once again rising in KP.
On August 16 a grand Pashtun Qaumi Jirga organized by ANP, all political parties and organizations jointly decided that they will fight for peace.
The leadership of the jirga has decided to hold a peace march on November 4 and a peaceful protest at the Swat Motorway Interchange under the auspices of the National Alliance would be carried out, he added.
