PESHAWAR
The spokesperson of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and senior leader of Awami National Party (ANP) Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that termination of more than 4,000 employees from Pakistan Steel Mills is an economic massacre of 4,000 families.
He said that the incumbent government of Pakistan Tehreek –i-Insaf (PTI) was against the policy of privatization in the country but they are taking U-turn on all their policies.
In a statement issued from Bacha Khan Markaz Peshawar, Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that in a situation where the people are already in the throes of inflation, humiliating more people by making them unemployed is a proof of incompetence of the present government.
He said that the PTI government was responsible for the devastation of Pakistan steel mill as its economic policies made every sector weaken, adding that no significant steps have been taken by the government to support poor labourers and masses.
Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that the “selected” has made Pakistan economically destitute, adding that the government had announced 10 million jobs but due to their failed policies millions of people have lost their jobs in the last two and a half years.
He said that it was cruel to make people unemployed during the epidemic in Corona, adding that the Prime Minister-elect wanted to hide his failure by privatizing every institution and the government should take back the decision of forcible dismissal of employees.
Before meeting the government, the incumbent Prime Minister used to stand on the container and claim that he has economists and policies that will take Pakistan’s economy to the heights of the sky.
