PESHAWAR: Senior Awami National Party (ANP) leader Yaseen Khalil has accused the Peshawar district administration of demolishing his plaza in defiance of a court stay order, alleging political retaliation. In a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club, Khalil claimed that despite complying with all legal requirements, the administration unlawfully razed his property, disregarding a Peshawar High Court order that barred such action. Khalil asserted that the district administration demanded a bribe to halt the demolition, which he refused, leading to the illegal demolition. He described the act as a contempt of court and has filed a petition in the Peshawar High Court to challenge the administration’s actions. Emphasizing that the issue extends beyond his personal property, Khalil called for the rule of law to be upheld and urged public support against the alleged misuse of authority by the district administration. He expressed confidence in the judiciary’s ability to hold the officials accountable and vowed to continue his fight for justice. DLP Report
