The Awami National Party (ANP) on Friday submitted a call attention notice in the Senate to draw the House attention towards ‘ethnic tensions flared up in several Sindh districts’. The notice was submitted by Senator Haji Hidayatullah Khan sought the action of Federal Minister for Interior and government of Sindh after some rough elements disturbed the social harmony of the province and harassed the Pashtuns population.
“I would like to draw attention of Minister of Interior towards press reports that ethnic tensions flared up in several Sindh districts following the killing of 35 years old Bilal Kaka at a hotel in Hayderabad a couple of days ago,” it stated.
ANP’Senator taking to twitter said that “ I have submitted a calling attention notice in the Senate against the harassment of Pashtuns in Sindh province.”
It is pertinent to mention here that following the killing of Bilal Kaka at a hotel in Hyderabad a couple of days ago, leaders from across the political spectrum unanimously called for peaceful environment and urged people not to let rough elements disturb the social harmony of the province.
The call came as several incidents of violence were reported in the province a couple of days ago. It has been reported that a number of hotels owned by Pashtuns were attacked and forcefully closed allegedly by Sindhi nationalists.
