ANP submits call attention notice in KP Assembly

PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) on Thursday submitted a call attention notice in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly, drawing the attention of the provincial government toward marble and other factories in district Buner, Swat and other areas which have been closed due to increase in prices of electricity. ANP parliamentary leader Sardar Hussain Babak submitted the notice. It is said that the livelihood of thousands of families depend on factories in the aforementioned districts of the province but due to the high price of power tariff they have decided to close them. It was further stated that KP generates 6500 MW of electricity at a cost of Rs 15 paisa per unit. The central government should abide by the constitution. The power generated by the province is not being provided for personal and commercial use. The call attention further said that the increase in electricity prices was tantamount to robbing the people of the province of their constitutional rights. ANP demanded that the provincial government should stand firm before the central government and oppose the increase of power bills for industrialists of the province. DLP Report
