Striving to establish the best irrigation system, Aqib Ullah Khan

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Irrigation Aqib Ullah Khan has said that serious steps are being taken to establish the best irrigation system in the province.
Work is underway on the construction of a total of 36 small dams in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, of which work has been completed on 8 dams. The completion of the Remodeling of Warsak Canal project will not only irrigate thousands of acres of land in Peshawar and Nowshera districts, but it will also significantly increase water flow and solve the water shortage problems of farmers.
These views were expressed by Provincial Minister Aqib Ullah Khan while talking to the media on the occasion of his visit to Warsak Canal Peshawar yesterday.
On this occasion, the Project Director gave a detailed briefing to the Provincial Minister on various aspects of the Remodeling of Warsak Canal Stem Project. The Provincial Minister for Irrigation was informed that about 73 percent of the work on the project has been completed. He inspected the approximately 5 km tunnel under construction and the pump house.
On this occasion, the Irrigation Minister was briefed about the construction work of the project, development issues, efficiency, cost, expenses and problems faced. Irrigation Minister Aqib Ullah Khan said that the construction of dams will not only solve water problems but also create new opportunities in agriculture, energy, tourism and employment, which will strengthen the economy. He said that the provincial government is committed to public service.
The provincial minister issued instructions that no compromise should be made on construction standards, while also assuring that steps would be taken to resolve the challenges faced.
