Arms smuggling bid foiled in Peshawar

The police seized unlicensed weapons from a passenger van and arrested a man near Zangli check post on Wednesday foiling an attempt to smuggle them to Punjab.
According to Badaber Police Station SHO Aijaz Nabi that 10 rifles were seized from the secret cavities of a passenger van near the Zangali check post on Kohat road Peshawar.
He said that the accused was trying to smuggle the arms to Punjab via Peshawar.
During the initial investigation, the arrested accused revealed that he was smuggling the arms to Punjab from Dara Adam Khel.
Police have registered a case against the arrested man and initiated investigation to reach other members of the alleged smuggler.
The accused has been identified as Sajjad Hussain hailing from Parachinar district, said police.
Police also claimed that the arrested person was a member of an arms smuggling gang.
