Police on Wednesday foiled a bid to smuggle arms and arrested the alleged smuggler in the limits of Bhanamani Police Station on Kohat Road near BRT-Bus stop.
SHO Noor Haider told reporters that acting on a tip-off police team established a check-post on Kohat road. He said during a check the smuggler was held with arms, adding that the arrested person was a member of an arms smuggling gang.
He said that the accused was trying to smuggle the illegal arms to Punjab from Peshawar.
Police during the action recovered 15 different bore pistols from his possession.
The arrested person has been identified as Gulzar.
A case has been registered against the accused and investigation was launched for further arrests.
