PESHAWAR: City Traffic Police during the last month issued fined 24,186 persons for violating traffic rules and received fines of Rs 6,182,900, said a handout. According to the details, on the direction of Chief Traffic Officer Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat the education teams of City Traffic Police Peshawar provide information to the citizens about the traffic rules in different sectors of the city. In this regard, 24,186 persons were challaned in the last one month for violating traffic rules. The statement said that quarter concerned the collected amount has been deposited in public treasury. Chief Traffic Officer Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat while expressing satisfaction over the operations said that City Traffic Police Peshawar will use all its capabilities to ensure implementation of traffic rules. He said that traffic authorities should ensure implementation of traffic rules and no negligence would be tolerated in this regard while legal action would be taken against the culprits.
