Federal Minister for planning and developmental works Asad Umar on Friday congratulated members of the upper house of parliament on passing of State Bank of Pakistan (Amendment) Bill 2022 and said that opposition should restrain itself from doing any ‘conspiracies’ anymore.
The Senate on Friday passed the State Bank of Pakistan (Amendment) Bill 2022 amid an outcry from the opposition on suffering back-to-back defeats in the House, where it otherwise enjoys a dominating numerical strength.
Federal Minister for planning Asad Umar, in a statement said that there was no other option left but to safeguard Pakistan’s national interests. “Opposition should abandon conspiracies of in-house and ‘outdoor’ changes” he said.
Asad Umar said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was implementing his vision of giving autonomy to state institutions. “Opposition’s culture of political hindrance in state institutions had ruined these institutions” Asad Umar said.
He said that incumbent government was ‘cleansing’ institutions from political affiliations and intercession. He urged opposition parties to formulate their own strategies instead of getting dictation from ‘rejected’ and ‘disqualified’ leaders.
