Azra Raza Award ceremony held at IMCG F-7/4

Principal, Islamabad Model College for Girls (Post-graduate Margalla College for Women) F-7/4 Prof Ayesha Kiyani presenting College Crest to Chief Guest Sultana Siddiqui at the annual Azra Raza Award giving ceremony held at the college auditorium. Four students receive PKR50,000 each for showing excellence in studies

The annual Azra Raza Award Ceremony was held at the IMCG (PG) Margalla College, F-7/4 to honor outstanding students in their studies and to boost the morale of the students.
Renowned media personality, Sultana Siddiqui was the chief guest on the occasion while founder of the Mass Communication Department and former teacher at the college and the acclaimed writer Mrs Qaisra Alvi, former principal of the Margalla College and a highly respected educationist Prof (R) Farhat Mujtaba were among the guests of honour.
Ms. Ayesha Kiyani, Principal of IMCG (PG) Margalla College, F-7/4, welcomed the guests including Dr. Fouzia Tanveer, Principal of IMCG (PG) F-7/2 College, Mrs. Rashida Saleemi, Mrs Asif Jahan and Mrs Shaheen Rasheed.
Chief guest Sultana Siddiqui in her address on the occasion paid rich tributes to Dr Azra Raza a former student of the IMCG and a renowned American Pakistani oncologist and a great scholar and narrator of Urdu classical poetry for establishing the award for the students of her alma mater.
Siddiqui also acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of the teachers and principals of both the colleges IMCG F-7/2 and IMCG F-7/4 (which used to be one college at the time of Azra Raza) for continuing the legacy of the college’s former student and a renowned US-Pakistani medic.
No doubt Azra Raza is a role model for the women of Pakistan and her endeavours are helping realize the dream of empowerment of women in economic and social fields and in science & research, etc.
Later, Sultana Siddiqui along with Principal Ayesha Kiyani distributed Azra Raza Awards that carried cash prizes of PKR 50,000 each among the students of both the colleges, Sehreena Zahid, Rafia Arshad, Tayyaba Zia and Fiza Naveed.
In addition, there was a poster competition held to promote the E-Rozgar initiative of the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training (MoFEPT) in the college.
The prize winners were awarded cash prizes by Principal Kiyani. The prize winners were Lubaba who earned the first prize (PKR3,000), Syeda Rakeeza clinched second prize (PKR2,000) while third prize of PKR 1,000 was given to Hafza Syed. Qaisera Alvi in her brief address express gratitude to the college’s principal, staff members, organizers and the students for their hard work and pains in organizing a memorable ceremony.
The Azra Raza Award Ceremony serves as a testament to the college’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and literary appreciation, she said.
Later, Prof Ayesha Kiyani presented the college crest to the chief guest.
