Banned export items seize at Torkham Border

Smuggling of contraband export items from Pakistan to Afghanistan was foiled when the customs officials recovered large quantities of sugar and fertilizer from export loaded truck here at Torkham Border last day.
The official of custom center in Torkham said that the officials were busy in their routine duties when they stopped an Afghanistan bound truck bearing registration no.GTG-3111, loaded with miscellaneous export commodities for examination.
During the search 140 bags of fertilizer (7700 kg) and 129 bags of sugar (6000 kg) were recovered.
The banned items were seized under 168 section of custom Act 1969,the official informed.
Case was registered against the clearing agent and the exporter besides driver and the vehicle were taken into legal custody for further investigation.
