Bid to smuggle currency foiled at Torkham border

KHYBER AGENCY: The border troops of Khyber Rifles at Torkham on Tuesday claimed to have seized six million Pakistani rupees being smuggled to and from Afghanistan and arrested two smugglers, KR Sources said.
As per report of KR recived to Daily Lead Pakistan, the border security forces of KR foiled two attempts to smuggle Rs six millions form Afghanistan and vice versa. The report said that at late night Monday Gulab Sher son of Afghan Sher resident of Jalalabad while going to Afghanistan was stopped for routine checking.
The KR personnel searched his luggage and recovered Rs 1.72 million.
Meanwhile, the forces apprehended a man while entering Pakistan.
He was identified as Din Ullah son of Diwa Gul resident of Achin.
The forces searched his possessions and recovered Rs.4 millions from him. All the money and the culprits were taken into custody for further interrogation.
The report said that all illegal deeds including currency smuggling would be discouraged by prompt action of the border guards to maintain peace in the region.
