PESHAWAR
As per schedule announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for February 8, 2024 general elections, the nomination papers receiving and distribution process among the aspirants to contest the elections in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa started on Wednesday.
According to details, the major political parties’ heads have got nomination papers, including Sirajul Haq, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Aimal Wali Khan, Faisal Karim Kundi, Pervaz Khattak, and others
The provincial president of Awami National Party (ANP) and Chairman of QWP Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao have submitted their nomination papers for NA-25, an important political constituency among the bigwigs for the leaders belonging to district Charsadda.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif has also received nomination papers from NA-15, Mansehra district of KP and former federal minister Sardar Muhammad Yusif took nomination papers from NA-14.
Captain Safdar received nomination papers from the same district constituency NA-15.
The election watchdog has announced the general election schedule which said that the nomination papers will be submitted from December 20 to December 22 and scrutiny of nomination papers by the Returning Officers will be held on December 24 to December 30.
As per ECP, appeals regarding the acceptance or rejection of the submitted nomination papers will be heard on January3, 2024.
January11, 2014 date has been fixed as the deadline for the withdrawal of nomination papers and January 13 has been given as a date for the allocation of election symbols to candidates. Polling will be held on February 8, 2024.
