Bitcoin inches up to $26,553 in mixed trade

ISLAMABAD: The cryptocurrency market remained mixed on Sunday, with the market capitalization losing 0.1 percent to reach $1.1 trillion. As of 0930 hours GMT, Bitcoin, the world’s oldest and most valued cryptocurrency, gained 0.1 percent in the last 24 hours to reach $26,553. The market capitalization of the biggest crypto has reached $517.5 billion with this increase. Bitcoin has been 2.7 percent up in the past seven days. Conversely, Ether (ETH), the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, shed 0.2 percent to reach $1,631. With this decrease in price, the market capitalization of ETH has reached $196 billion. TLTP

The great Ethereum Merge completed its first anniversary on September 15. The network’s energy usage has dropped drastically by 99.9 percent on the blockchain over the past year since Ethereum’s transition away from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake. Over 300,000 ETH, worth $488 million, have been burned during the last one year.
However, Binance Coin (BNB) price surged 0.5 percent to reach $215. The market capitalization of BNB has reached $33.1 billion with this increase. BNB has gained 1.1 percent of its value during the last seven days.
On the other hand, Ripple (XRP) price decreased by 0.8 percent in the past 24 hours to reach $0.496. The market capitalization of XRP stands at $26.4 billion with this decrease. XRP has lost 0.6 percent of its value during the last seven days.
Meanwhile, Cardano (ADA) price went down by 0.4 percent to reach $0.249. With this decrease in price, its market capitalization has reached $8.7 billion. ADA has shed 0.01 percent of its value during the last seven days.
Other popular altcoins including Dogecoin (DOGE), Litecoin (LTC), and Solana (SOL) landed in the negative as overall prices saw minor losses across the board. Toncoin (TON) emerged to be the biggest gainer, seeing a 24-hour jump of over 2.38 percent. VeChain (VET), on the other hand, turned out to be the biggest loser.
