Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P)’s Provincial Minister for Irrigation Arshad Ayub, while presiding over a meeting on irrigation department’s projects in merged districts, said that bringing tribal districts at par with settled districts is part of PTI’s manifesto.
He said that development projects were being set up in the tribal districts. Significant funds have been allocated for irrigation projects in the tribal districts and work on these projects is in progress.
He further said that irrigation and food security are closely linked. Water should be provided to farmers on priority basis through schemes to increase their yield per acre and raise their standard of living. He directed the concerned authorities to monitor the projects and take special care of quality.
The concerned officials briefed the provincial minister in detail about the ongoing projects in the meeting. The Provincial Minister for Irrigation directed to complete the public welfare schemes in time.
