As Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the implementation of BS education system. Most of colleges and universities of the country have started BS.BS is a 4 years Bachelors Program which has replaced 2 years Bachelors & 2 years Master’s Program. Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor Science (BSc) and Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degrees were granted in two years and subsequent master’s degrees in another two years. instead of acquiring a master’s degree in four years, the students get a bachelor’s degree under the BS programme. BS programme is primary based on research and investigation.
BS programme in college level is most fruitful for those who cannot afford the high fee and expenses of universities.
Introduction of BS programme in the colleges has increased access to higher education for poor sections of society & also boost the ratio of enrolment in higher education IN Pakistan.
Already The professional bachelor degrees in agriculture, engineering, pharmacy and veterinary medicine is obtained after 4 years of study. Architecture and medicine require 5 years.
Among the professional programmes, engineering and technology are the most popular.
In place of the 2year BA/BSc/ Bcom, universities will now be able to offer an Associate Degree through recognized campuses or constituent colleges in market driven subjects, after necessary approval from HEC, for students with 12 years of schooling. Detailed guidelines for this programme are available on HEC website.
Students holding Associate Degrees will also be able to re-enter the education system by getting admission in the fifth semester of a BS programme after fulfilling additional entry requirements.
If you have completed 16 years of education then you are referred to as Bachelor or graduate and this level is called Bachelors or Graduation on international level. Know Pakistan education equal to international levels.
