A bus explosion in the Russian city of Voronezh has left one woman dead and fifteen others injured, The Moscow Times reported.
Video footage of the reported incident surfaced online Thursday showing some passengers fleeing the wreckage through the bus door and broken windows. Russian state media reported that there were 35 passengers on the bus at that time of the incident.
An unidentified woman died from her injuries at a nearby medical facility intensive care unit, where she was admitted under critical condition, according to the RIA Novosti news agency.
Dozens of other passengers, three of whom are in serious condition, were taken to a hospital, according to the Moscow Times.
This comes as Russia’s Investigative Committee (RIC) has opened a criminal investigation into the bus explosion, with investigators not ruling out the possibility of explosive devices on the vehicle, multiple news outlets reported.
However, an unnamed source from regional authorities told Russian news agency Interfax that the vehicle had a faulty gas container on its roof, Moscow news reported.
