Camp for National Women Baseball Championship begins

Soon after holding the trials in the Tehmas Khan Football Stadium, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Baseball Association announced probables for the camp to be setup at the same venue for the forthcoming National Women Baseball Championship to be played in Islamabad on March 10-15, 2023.
District Sports Officer Peshawar Miss Gul Rukh, a former national badminton player, while talking to APP here on Wednesday said that they have provided all facilities to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Baseball Association for holding the trials for the selection of the women team besides setting up camp during the morning time in Tehmas Khan Football Stadium.
She said those selected for the camps would be provided due facilities so that a strong team would represent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Founder member of the Baseball, Softball and Archery in Pakistan Muhammad Wisal along with male coach Muhammad Asim and female coach Sana Liaqat with all participating players were also present during the trials.
Miss Gul Rukh said that the training camp of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Women Baseball Team started in Tahmas Khan Football Stadium Peshawar in connection with the preparations and selection of the KP team for National Women Baseball Championship.
Miss Gul Rukh, Coaches Muhammad Asim, Sana Liaquat, Adnan Shah, Zafaran Khan, General Secretary KP Baseball Association Captain Afridi and other personalities were also present. The team will leave for Islamabad on March 9. More than thirty players participated in the trials, out of which Rameen Khan, Sadia, Sidra Khattak, Adina Khan, Ruqiya, Shawal Umar, Malaika Hussain, Laila, Sambal, Salma, Sidra Rehman, Komal, Momina, Asia, Farwa, Aiman, Nida, Kashaf were short-listed for the camp who were guided by the coaches in various fields of practice.
While talking to the media, male coach Muhammad Asim and Sana Liaquat said that the best for the national competitions. The team is being prepared and we hope that the women’s baseball team of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will perform well in the national competitions.
