CAMP, Ombudsperson Secretariat holds organized conference on women right of inheritance

Community Appraisal and Motivation Program (CAMP) in collaboration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace organized a conference to promoting women’s property and inheritance rights in Newly Merged Districts. On the occasion, a MoU was signed between Ombudsperson Secretariat and CAMP for collaboration in 2020, said a press release issued here on Thursday.
Rukhshanda Naz, Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace inaugurated the conference and lauded the efforts of provincial government and civil society on the subject matter. She said that rights of women should be recognized and they must be part of ownership.
She reminded that “KP Enforcement of Women’s Property Rights Act” was not only about inheritance but about all types of property of all types. She said that the act Act aims at providing protection to women of their ownership rights and possession of properties and that their rights are not violated by any means of harassment, coercion, force and fraud.
CAMP’s CEO Naveed Ahmad Shinwari welcomed the participants and thanked stakeholders including Ombudsperson Secretariat, Commonwealth Foundation and Da Khor Barkha project.
