He said that, more than 300 policemen will perform duties around Faisal Mosque, and special deployment will be made around other Masjids from the 27th of Ramadan.
The Islamabad capital police Traffic division has also created a special traffic plan to ensure the convenience of motorists traveling to Faisal Mosque for Mehfil-e-Shabeena. Special walk-through gates will be installed to provide effective security for worshippers and patrolling will be made more effective. Checking points have been specified for security purposes, and the police officials have been directed to maintain extra vigilance.
The CPO/DIG Operations Islamabad has directed all senior officials to comply with these security arrangements during the month of Ramadan. Masjid committees will conduct security checks on worshippers using metal detectors.
Police officials have been directed to conduct special checks on hotels, motels, inns, and guest houses for security purposes. Property dealers have also been directed to provide the record of tenants to the SHOs of their respective areas. Checking at entry and exit points should be intensified without causing any inconvenience to citizens.
All the SDPOs and SHOs have been directed to personally supervise the security arrangements during Ramadan, ensure the deployment of police officials where necessary, and no laxity will be tolerated. The CPO/DIG has also categorically stated that no laxity will be tolerated by any official in performing security duties. Strict security will be enforced at entry and exit points of the city, and close monitoring of those entering or leaving the city will be conducted.
