CCPO reaffirms pledge to maintain peace during Muharram

All available resources would be utilized to maintain law and order situation and foolproof security arrangements have been made to provide security to all important buildings and spots during the special days of Muharram in the provincial capital.
This was disclose during a meeting of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Syed Ashfaq Anwar with a delegation of Muttahida Aman Committee led by Maulana Hussain Ahmad Madnai and comprising Khurshid Ali Akhunzada, Gopal Singh, Pandit Hari Lal and other members.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar Shah Fahad, SP Faqirabad Division Dr. Mohammad Umar, SP Cantt Division Waqas Rafiq and other police officers.
CCPO Peshawar on this occasion said that police have established a strong mechanism and coordination with all relevant stakeholders and efforts are underway to ensure safety of all those participating in the Muharram.
Syed Ashfaq Anwar also appreciated the role of the Muttahida Aman Committee in Peshawar and said that without effective coordination peace in the provincial capital cannot be ensured, adding that Committee appreciated their efforts to play a role for the sake of Muharram Al-Haram, Chehlum Imam Hussain, Rabi-ul-Awwal, Eid-ul-Adha and inter-faith harmony without any greed or fear.
On this occasion, Maulana Hussain Ahmad Madani, the head of the Muttahida Aman Committee , presented some suggestions to the CCPO and Deputy Commissioner Peshawar and assured them to cooperate with the police, district administration and other government agencies to maintain peace and order in the city.
