Peshawar(PR):KP Finance Minister Muzaffar Said Advocate has alleged that the federal government is pushes the province against the wall on NFC and literally usurping rights of the smaller provinces including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on National Finance Commission (NFC) award like other so many matters.
He showed his deep concern that our genuine grievances were not mitigated that also caused increase the torment both at the public and governmental level in our province.
Representing KP Government at the first bi-annual review meeting on 7the NFC award at Islamabad that was chaired by Federal Finance Minister Eshaq Dar, and later talking to media personal, Muzaffar Said Advocate regretted that the federal government summoned the first bi-annual review meeting of 7th NFC award at a time when even the time of second bi-annual and related fiscal year was over and there was no fruitful results of holding such review meeting.
He said that if the center was sincere to give some financial benefits to the smaller provinces of the 7th NFC Award that was prepared before 18th Constitutional Amendments then it must be summoned in the month of January so that the province could table their grievances in time and hence forth got the fruits.
KP Finance Minister deplored that attitude and sincerity of the federal government to the provinces and its people in the present circumstances has become a question mark while the tolerance of provinces has also reached to the climax.
He said that if the federation wanted to satisfy us then it must announce date of new NFC award rather than summoning untimely review meeting on old NFC award.
He suggested that center must takes serous steps in order to give some relief to the people of smaller provinces and hence they could heave sigh of contentment while drastic measures should be taken for rehabilitation of the terror and calamity hit people and infrastructure of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Muzaffar Said Advocate recalled that even in clause 9 of section 5 of the presidential award on 7th NFC, it has been clearly mentioned to summon review and implementation meeting on NFC quarterly basis our center but was infact making irony of the constitutional obligation and poverty of the masses to summon untimely bi-annual meeting of the old NFC.
He said that it was better for the center to summon the working group meeting for the 9th NFC award instead of holding review and implementation meeting on the 7th NFC award.
He said that the 9th NFC award required new census and financial distributions matters that could also greatly contribute in improving working relationship between center and provinces, remove the prevalent sense of deprivation among the masses and promote national integrity and cohesion in the long run.
